Delectable thoughts (and a thank you)
I was going through the photos taken in Manila during our stay there last year, pre-wedding and post-wedding photos that our digital camera captured and I chanced upon the photo of the cake that Judy Uson gave us after the wedding and before we left for Manila. I realized that I probably havent taken the time to really express our thanks to Judy and to rave about the cakes -- our wedding cake and the send-off cake she gave us.
I love how cakes add flair and festiveness to any occasion. Most people love cake and I admit that I have a sweet tooth. I love baking and most of the goodies that I give out to family and friends are sweet treats. I also admire those who can really make their cakes yummy and pretty! So for our wedding, the cake is A BIG DEAL. Patrick wanted to have that traditional fondant cake for the wedding, he likes the smooth elegant look of fondant cakes and we also want it to be a delightful cake eating experience for us and our guests. We want the cake to look good and taste good and we found that cake courtesy of the cake artist, Judy Uson. She has the passion and the talent for making really wonderful cakes. Each cake is a creation, a work of art.
One of the things that I look forward to and plan to do when we visit Manila again is to order a cake from Judy. It wont be a 5 layer carrot walnut with cream cheese filling cake like the one she made for our wedding, but perhaps a layer or two would statisfy our craving for Judy's cake. :0)
Anyway, I will never forget how Judy surprised us brought this wonderful cake (chocolate with kahlua flavor) 3 days before we were about to head back to the US. It was really a sweet gesture from her. It was a nice send off and we were genuinely touched. She drove all the way from QC to Paranaque to personally deliver the cake with her daughter. Isnt she sweet? I think her cakes are just as sweet! From the bottom of our hearts and delighted tummies... thank you, Judy! Oh and thanks for featuring us in your blogsite too.
