Point Of Grace

An online journal of a newlywed on the journey of marriage -- going through the different tides, the highs and the lows, the various points in life with the flaming desire to reach a point of grace. And with pun intended, this journal is my little space where I intend to share my thoughts and day to day experiences my point of view, the point of Grace.

Pittsburgh Trip

We just got back from our weekend trip from Pittburgh. Patrick and I left Friday afternoon and drove for about 5 hours to get to Pittsburgh, PA. We wanted to visit and spend time with as much family and friends as we could during this 3 day stay in Pittsburgh. My friend and former bridesmaid Sandra also drove 5 hours to get to Pittsburgh from Detroit where she is working now.

So while I did girlie stuff -- watch a chick flick on DVD and in the theater (Monster-in-law), take long dips at the jacuzzi and hotel pool, went shopping and chit-chats that last till 3 AM; Patrick stayed with his sister, Susan who has a house in Pittsburgh. That gave them the chance to catch up and spend more time with each other since they really dont get to see much of each other and the time that Sue was in Manila for the wedding, we were so busy that there were times we didnt see her until dinner time or when we can zip by New World Hotel (where she stayed while in Manila). The days leading to the wedding was so frantic and we couldnt spend as much time as we wanted with everyone who flew in for the wedding.

Anyway, Patrick and Susan along with Peter (Susan's husband) spent most of the weekend together and I was with my friend Sandra just having a blast. Saturday night, we went to this fancy French restaurant which is voted French cuisine restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Monday is Memorial Day ( May 30th) so it was a holiday here so we had an extra day to relax, unwind and head back. After parting ways with Sandra and bidding Susan and Peter goodbye, we drove back to Mount Joy but took a side trip to Greensburg where another sister of Patrick lives. We had a short visit, staying there just for about 3 hours- showed them wedding photos and videos and then we were on our way back to our home.

We didnt get back till past 10pm but overall, it was a nice long weekend... Looking forward to the next holiday!
