Point Of Grace

An online journal of a newlywed on the journey of marriage -- going through the different tides, the highs and the lows, the various points in life with the flaming desire to reach a point of grace. And with pun intended, this journal is my little space where I intend to share my thoughts and day to day experiences my point of view, the point of Grace.

Feeling Rotten

In our lives, we sometimes go through this stage where we feel rotten, like nothing seem to be able to make us feel perky and happy. Im in that stage right now. And its caused by an injustice that happened to someone close to me. It kinda hits home the way this person (perpetuator) got away with what she has been doing for so many years. Im so upset that I dont really know how to regain my focus but I know in due time, I will. I hope that eventually, the true colors of this person will be made visible to the many that she has deceived and that justice will find a way.

Wicked

I got the tickets to the Broadway play Wicked in the mail today! We ordered the tickets for the October 12th matinee of the play. It will be at the Gershwin Theater in New York City. Patrick and I will be spending the day there with our godparents at the wedding -- Chita and Titin. Not only are they our godparents at the wedding, they are also good friends. They will be visiting New York next month so Patrick and I are meeting up with them and watching Wicked in Broadway and perhaps sample some of the new restaurants in New York! Can't wait! :-)

Hurricane Katrina

As we all know by now, hurricane Katrina caused a lot of devastation in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Its heartbreaking to see thousands upon thousands of people hurting and suffering -- losing their homes and every single thing that they have earned and established, not only are they homeless but they dont have anything other than the clothes on their back. Some were "lucky" enough to get a few things as they try to sruvive the hurricane but are still homeless, jobless and depending on the kindness of the other people, their countrymen and the US government. It will take years to rebuild New Orleans and the other cities that were hit by the hurricane. Many of those places show total annihilation.

As I write this entry, about 30,000 people will be transferred from New Orleans Superdome to the Astrodome in Houston Texas. I hope that though it wont be home for the victims of the hurricane, it will be more comfortable as they would have power, airconditioning, clean water and facilities in Texas. Some babies havent had a diaper change in 3 days! Poor babies! The mayor of Philadelphia just announced that the city will welcome 3,000-4,000 people from New Orleans. They will be provided with shelter, food, water, dry beds and clean clothes and education for the children.

The entire nation is trying to work together. So many fund raising projects and donation programs have been organized and people are volunteering and taking the time out to help the victims and most of all, people are welcoming families affected by the hurricane to their homes.

Patrick and I dont know as of yet how we can help but Im sure there will be some local fund drive where we can help or volunteer. I hope things get better soon and that the victims will recover and find their loved ones. They said that there could be thousands of fatalities and it could actually be higher than the number of deaths in the 1900 Storm that killed 6,000 people in Galveston, Texas.

On a lighter note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Pebbles, Dolores, Rizzy, Dennis, Myla, Owen, Kuya Frankie and Marga! :-)
