You win some, you lose some
In life, we all have victories and we face defeat. Reality can sometimes make us face the not so pretty things in life. Today, I face my defeat in something I was trying to achieve and maintain in my life. Facing that defeat was not very easy and it made me question a lot of things in my life. I dont have a gameplan yet on how to address the issues Im facing but I suppose something will come up. I just hope that there is something really nice to look forward to in the next few months.
It doesnt help that Ive been feeling under the weather these past few weeks. Ive been fighting an asthma attack with coughing and a nasty cold and just a feeling of not being well. Despite being sick, I couldnt get the proper rest I needed to recuperate. I guess thats why Im sick longer than I expected.
Oh well... Thanksgiving is the day after tomorrow, I know there are still a lot to be thankful for in life. It will be a quiet Thanksgiving for us, most of Patrick's family decided to travel and visit other relatives and friends out of town or out of the country but Im still preparing for the Thanksgiving dinner so I have to prepare the turkey and the rest of the Thanksgiving stuff tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Something Borrowed, Something Blue...
I've been reading Emily Giffin's books lately. A quick trip to the library led me to the chick-lit area of the local library. I'm admittedly a sucker for happy endings so I tend to check out books that are fun and easy going. I've started with the first novel Something Borrowed and though it basically revolves around a dishonest and "inappropriate" relationship, you cant help but cheer for the main character. The second novel, Something Blue is the sophomore novel from Giffin which dwells more on the woman scorned in the first novel. Its like a case of she said, she said since the main characters of the first and second novel are/were best of friends. In the first novel, you get to see things and hear Rachel's side of the story and on the second novel, you will see things on Darcy's perspective. Funny and interesting. I couldnt put the book down so I actually spent 4 hrs straight reading the first novel.
Anyway, its November already! Geesh... I have got to get cracking on the presents and the balikbayan box that I need to ship for Manila this weekend!
